Getting Here

By Air

The international airport of Warszawa at Okecie is named after the world famous national composer and is called The Frederic Chopin International Airport (WAW). The airport is located about ten kilometres south-west from the centre of the city.

Transport from/to
the Warsaw Airport

BUS:
Bus 175 goes to the city centre; buses 148 and 188 take you to nearest subway stations.
Travel time by bus to the centre is about 25-40 minutes. 
Night time, there is bus #N32 that operates between the airport and the city centre (and the main railway station).

TAXI:
The three taxi corporations: MPT, SAWA, and MERC have a deal with the airport and therefore are recommended. You can order a cab on-line, by phone, or sms.

These corporations have their receptions outlets in the Arrival hall of the Terminal 2; the personell there speaks English. All mayor credit cards are accepted.

However, you can always call another cab yourself, see the list of phone numbers in Getting around. The uncorporated drivers in and around the airport often try to pick up tourists, which frequently results in higher costs and risks.


RENT-A-CAR:
The rent-a-car agents are to be found in the public area of Terminal 1, Arrivals Hall.

By Train

You can enter the capital on one of the three main railway stations located in Warszawa. The best way to get on and off the trains is at the Central Station (Warszawa Centralna), located in the heart of the city centre (54 Jerozolimskie Street). If your destination is the eastern parts of Warszawa, you should get off at Eastern Warszawa Station (Warszawa Wschodnia). For those who wish to travel further by coach, the Western Warszawa Station (Warszawa Zachodnia) would be the choice, since there is a large coach terminal in the vicinity.

By Coach

If you go by coach you will probably arrive at the Western Warszawa Coach Station (Dworzec PKS Warszawa Zachodnia), 144 Jerozolimskie Street, which is the largest coach station, both for domestic and international destinations. At the Warszawa Stadion Station (Warszawa Stadion), Zieleniecka Street, there is another coach station, for eastbound destinations, domestic as well as international.

By Car

Several major highways go to Warszawa: E30 from west (Poznan, Berlin) and E67 from Wroclaw. From south-east E462 and road 61 and E67 from north-east and Lithuania. From south you get to the centre taking E77 from Krakow, you will use this highway while entering Warsaw from north (Gdansk).
